Bold Visions for Portland
In this collaborative visioning event, participants will be asked to present 4-5 minute “pitches” of proposals for Portland’s future. These can be modest in scale but bold in impact or wholly expansive in every sense of the word; rooted in the present or vectoring toward speculative alternate realities. Win over the audience with views and stories of Portland’s potential futures--radical and sustainable visions steeped in equity, inclusion, justice, and creativity. A panel of hosts and audience questions will drive discussion. A guest DJ will provide the entertainment for our festival.

PBOT’s urban designers and others unveil ideas and plans for the higher, better, sometimes radical uses of this underutilized public space. Fashion-forward streets; getting ready for Bridgeless Burnside; Black streets, radical old ideas we chickened out on; putting plants first, next-generation street plazas, and other ideas for rethinking the 40% of central city land devoted to cars.
